XXII International Symposium in Genetics and Plant Breeding

Every year the Study Group in Genetics and Plant Breeding (GEN) and the Graduate Program in Genetics and Plant Breeding at Universidade Federal de Lavras (UFLA) holds a symposium. The event has consolidated itself as an important moment for scientific discussion on relevant topics related to genetics and plant breeding. After 21 consecutive years, the event has become one of the most important events promoted at the university, bringing together the participation of the academic community and professionals of both public and private companies.

This year, in its 22^nd edition, the focus is on “Polyploidy: challenges and implications in Genetics and Plant Breeding”. We will have five international and four national speakers and the main idea is to discuss achievements and perspectives around the theme. The event has a proposal to intensify the interaction between undergraduate and graduate students with national and international researchers and professionals, as well as to enable students to present papers during the event.
